Forecast was good for wind, and it delivered. Unfortunately, so did the cold snap. Jim and I had decided not to go out as the snow was blizzarding horizontally, but looking out the window, I could see somebody out blasting back and forth on the estuary. We decided to have a closer inspection and realised it was Rob who had not got our text messages saying we weren't venturing out. He was massively overpowered on his 4.2 and JP Freestyle Wave 84, and was getting blown all over the place. Put my head out of Jim's van to get a wind reading (40 mph gusts) and nearly had my face cryogenically preserved - based on this I think our decision not to go out was justified, although only just. Fun watching Rob for half an hour, but by then even he decided it was a bit too extreme, so we helped him rig down and get his stuff loaded back into his car. Although didn't go out myself, the session gets a 2* for entertainment value.
